Jack Butland insists it was an easy decision to snub a permanent contract offer from boyhood club Manchester United in favour of joining Rangers.
Butland was one of three players to join United on loan in January, following the return of Martin Dubravka to parent club Newcastle United. The 30-year-old failed to make a single appearance for the Reds, with David de Gea an ever-present between the posts - although he was named on the bench for last month's FA Cup final.
The goalkeeper's loan was effectively ended after defeat to Manchester City at Wembley, with the club confirming just days later that he would join Scottish Premiership side Rangers. He is expected to be the No.1 choice at Ibrox and admits the chance of regular football made it a simple decision.

“It wasn’t difficult," he told Football Scotland. "Joining Manchester United was a great opportunity to join a club I supported as a kid and learn from the best and things like that but you quickly get to a point where you realise just how much you miss playing yourself and how much you miss the winning feeling.
“Rangers had always been there for a few years but it never quite got to a point where I had a decision to make and this summer it got to that point. It wasn’t a difficult decision to make, it’s an incredible club to join with the history and being successful is what you want as a player.
“That’s this club’s goal every year without fail. Be successful and win. That’s an exciting place to be as a player, and hopefully we can do that.”
Butland's exit was the first of what could be several goalkeeping exits at United, with De Gea also leaving upon the expiry of his contract last week while Dean Henderson expects to join Nottingham Forest permanently. Erik ten Hag is keen on bringing a new shot-stopper to Old Trafford and is interested in Inter Milan's Andre Onana and Justin Bijlow of Feyenoord.
