The clarification was issued by Iman Attarzade, spokesperson for the committee overseeing the farewell and funeral ceremonies, who urged Iranians not to believe unverified information circulating online.
In a series of posts on X, translated from Persian, Attarzade appealed to the public to rely only on official announcements regarding the funeral arrangements.
"We ask our dear Iranian people not to pay attention to rumours; we will provide accurate announcements from the event organising committee," he said, adding that the farewell and funeral ceremonies for the martyred leader would begin on Sunday, July 3.
