Not Anushka Sharma, but Virat Kohli found THIS actress 'cute' and wanted to see her playing cricket - WATCH

As Kohli competes in the ongoing T20 matches in the USA, fans are hooked on his on-field performance and Anushka Sharma's support from the stands. Videos of the actress leading the cheer squad have flooded social media. Amidst the excitement, a throwback clip of a young Virat has resurfaced and gone viral, hitting fans with a wave of nostalgia.

In a throwback video, a young Virat Kohli, during an interview with Anusha Dandekar, revealed his fondness for Bollywood actress Genelia D'Souza. In the candid interview, when asked which actress he would like to see playing cricket, Kohli replied, "Genelia D'Souza" without any hesitation.

When pressed for why he chose her, the cricket star shyly admitted, "She's cute!"

Anusha Dandekar teased him further, asking what he liked about her, to which Kohli, blushing, said, "She's cute! That's it."

In the same clip, Kohli shared an amusing anecdote about the shortest date he had ever been on. "Actually, I went on a blind date which ended in about 5 minutes. Because I saw the girl and I ran away," he said. When asked why he did that, he candidly replied, "She was ugly. I'm sorry to say, but she was ugly."

At the time of this interview, Genelia D'Souza was in a long-term relationship with Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh, with whom she tied the knot in 2012.

A few months after this video was shot, Virat Kohli met actress Anushka Sharma during a shampoo commercial shoot in 2013. Reportedly, sparks flew between the two, and they soon started dating. The couple's romance culminated in a fairy-tale wedding in Italy in 2017.

On the professional front, Anushka, who welcomed her second child, son Akaay, in February, is awaiting the release of the 'Jhulan Goswami' biopic, in which she plays the lead.
