Is 2022 the year of lost beauty brands resurging? We sure hope so. After a successful relaunch for Boots own brand 17 earlier this year, another best-loved and lost brand is getting ready to return to health and beauty store shelves.
Shoppers rushed to stock up on iconic Little Round Pot Blusher and Healthy Mix Foundation when news broke that Bourjois was being discontinued in December 2019.
But now, the cosmetics brand is back three years on, and will be exclusively stocked in Superdrug from tomorrow (July 4).

Over the last three years the European beauty brand has continued to grow in its birthplace of France as well as across 38 markets worldwide.
And UK customers will once again be able to get their popular rouge velvet lipsticks to live their best Emily in Paris life.
Superdrug Trading Director Megan Potter says: “Superdrug is absolutely thrilled to welcome the iconic Bourjois brand back to the UK, especially as the range was previously a firm favourite with our customers.
“Parisian beauty is having a big moment thanks to Emily In Paris – and let’s face it, that chic French style will never go out of fashion! Customers will be happy to see the return of Bourjois’ hero products including the Little Round Pot Blushers but there are also some innovative new offerings in the collection.”
Bourjois was founded by actor Joseph-Albert Ponsin in 1863 after he created a skin product to replace the heavy, greasy stage makeup used in theatres. It’s been loved by celebrities and royalty alike, with Kate Middleton having worn Bourjois So Laque Nail Enamel in Rose Lounge on her wedding day. Other celeb fans of the brand are said to include Victoria Beckham, Dannii Minogue, Cate Blanchett, Uma Thurman, Jessica Simpson and Paris Hilton.
Superdrug’s exclusive Bourjois collection will consist of iconic hero products including the Little Round Pot Blusher in 10 pigmented shades for £8.99. Rouge Velvet Lipstick will also return the shelves, reportedly offering 24-hour wear for £9.99, available in 12 matte shades.
New to the UK is the Rouge Velvet Ink for a transfer proof, mask resistant lipstick with a line and fill applicator to help contour lips. Also never before seen in the UK is Bourjois’ Twist Up Mascara, coming in at £11.99. Said to be the number-one selling mascara in France, Bourjois sell 1.7 of them every second.
Later this year will see the return of the £11.99 Healthy Mix Foundation - a vegan medium coverage anti-fatigue foundation containing vitamins C, E and B5, available in 13 shades.
Anne Lebourg, Bourjois Brand Director added: “Bourjois is overjoyed to be returning to the UK. Since the range was discontinued in the UK in 2019, our deep -rooted heritage of effortless Parisian beauty has continued in France – and indeed worldwide. We are looking forward to reintroducing our iconic products, as well as new innovations to Superdrug customers, existing to make beauty a happier place.”
You'll be able to shop Bourjois at Superdrug from tomorrow.
