Nosferatu: What Is It About?
“Come to me,” Lily-Rose Depp’s Ellen Hutter calls out in the Nosferatu trailer.
Nosferatu revolves around Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård), a wealthy Transylvanian who is secretly a vampire. When Orlok becomes obsessed with Ellen, her husband, Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult), tries to save her from the Count’s menacing spell before it causes “untold horror in its wake.”
Nosferatu also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Friedrich Harding, Emma Corrin as Anna Harding, and Willem Dafoe as Prof. Albin Eberhart Von Franz.
Nosferatu is written, directed, and produced by Eggers, his first film since 2022’s The Northman. Additional producers include Jeff Robinov, John Graham, Chris Columbus, and Eleanor Columbus.
Initial reviews of Nosferatu have been positive. The movie scored an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes and an 81 on Metacritic.

Because Christmas is on a Wednesday, the box office tracking for the opening weekend will consist of five days.
Per Polymarket, Nosferatu is favored to achieve a five-day opening weekend of over $30 million (-194).
Nosferatu is projected to have a three-day opening weekend between $15 million and $20 million. If the three-day opening surpasses $20 million, it has a shot to total $30 million for the five-day.
If audiences respond well to the vampire horror, it should be the biggest opening in Eggers’ career, surpassing the $12.2 million open by The Northman.
