To keep his side’s trajectory stable, this has the feel of an absolute must-win, both to keep momentum going and to heap further pressure on Frank Lampard’s side. For Norwich, winless in all competitions since 5 February and with only two points from the last 24 available, 30 points remains a miserably distant target with eight games remaining, never mind the 40 traditionally viewed as sufficient for survival.
