Norwich City vs Chelsea prediction and odds: Kai Havertz tipped to maintain fine form against Canaries

Chelsea will be looking to increase the gap between themselves and fifth-place Manchester United with a win against Norwich City in the Premier League as the race for the top four continues.

The Blues are the clear favourites at 3/10 with Betfred while for the hosts they are 11/1 longshots and a draw is 9/2.

Thomas Tuchel's side were outstanding and clinical away at Turf Moor as they secured a 4-0 win against Burnley with Reece James returning with a man of the match performance.

But they will be without the wing-back after he suffered yet another injury and will not be returning to the action until April at the earliest.

However, Dean Smith's side are in dire form and relegation is looking more and more inevitable which is not a welcoming viewpoint when you are about to welcome the reigning European and World champions.

The Canaries have conceded 14 goals in their last five matches in all competitions including three against Brentford and four to City - hardly the form you want against a side which scored seven in their last meeting.

Team stats

  • Both teams in matches involving Chelsea have scored in 12 league matches from 26 while for Norwich it is 10 from 27 - no on both teams to score is 4/6
  • Chelsea have finished 13 league matches with three or more total goals while for Norwich it is 16 from 27 - over 2.5 goals is 8/11

Player(s) to watch

Kai Havertz was brilliant last weekend with a brace against the Clarets which should be enough of a confidence boost for him to be hungry for more.

The German has been a victim to the rotation system - featuring in the bench in three of Chelsea's last six league matches.

But with the Bayer Leverkusen now back to the goalscoring ways, he will be looking for more and Norwich City are the perfect side on paper.

H2H

This will be the 55th meeting between the two sides with Chelsea picking up 24 wins, 16 draws and 14 losses against Norwich City.

Earlier this season, Chelsea thrashed the Canaries 7-0 at Stamford Bridge - their biggest league win since thrashing Aston Villa 8-0 in 2012.
