Norwich Airport cancels flights due to industrial action

  • Norwich Airport has cancelled all flights on Friday 28 August due to a 24-hour strike by air traffic control staff.
  • Members of the Prospect union are undertaking industrial action over pay and working conditions, closing the airport to air traffic.
  • Prospect members at Norwich airport are asking for a 10 per cent pay rise in line with market comparators and improved maternity and paternity leave.
  • Passengers scheduled to fly on Friday have been advised to check with their airline for available flight options, while Norwich airport said: “We apologise for the disruption and inconvenience this will cause to passengers.”
  • KLM, Loganair, Ryanair and Tui are among the Carriers that fly out of Norwich.
