Superintendent Paul Stewart, of Northumbria Police, said: "We are growing increasingly concerned for David's welfare.
"We have carried out extensive searches of the local area to locate David, as well as conducting all the usual searches but sadly we have not yet found him.
"On Monday we appealed to the public for assistance and this appeal still stands. Anyone who has any information which could assist our search, however insignificant you fear it might be, is asked to reach out to us as soon as possible."
David is described as white, 5 foot 8 inches in height, of a slim build, with short grey hair and a short grey beard.
He was last seen wearing grey Lacoste trainers, blue jeans and a long puffa jacket with furry hood.
David, or anyone who knows where he is, is asked to contact officers on 101 or via the website's 'Tell us Something' section, quoting log NP-20220911-0657.
