A 98-mile trip through Northumberland has been named one of the most beautiful drives in all of the UK.
Researchers based their findings on miles driven through National Parks, along coastlines, and through Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The routes chosen were around 100 miles, can be completed in a day and take three to fours hours to drive. They take into account the need for pit stops and leg stretches and leave plenty of time to take little detours or fit in some sightseeing that suits you.
And the findings here reveal the six routes across the UK identified as the most beautiful in the whole of the UK. The Northumberland trip identified is from Berwick-upon-Tweed to the Kielderhead Nature Reserve via the Northumberland Coast and took researchers three hours and three minutes to drive.
