Northumberland airfield bosses are seeking permission for military and emergency aircraft to land after they were banned by council bosses.
Eshott Airfield bosses have been embroiled in a fight with Northumberland County Council over rules which resulted in emergency and military aircraft being forbidden from landing - except in emergencies.
Now, an application has been lodged with the local authority seeking permission to allow military and emergency aircraft to land for training and refuelling purposes.

They are also seeking to amend the operating hours of the airfield to 7am and 11pm.
In a statement lodged with the council, it states: "The airfield has supported the military and emergency services for a number of years. This is well documented including use of the site in hours of darkness during emergency situations.
"The airfield will apply to exclude military and emergency service aircraft from all operational restriction of the 5700kg at Eshott Airfield. There will remain restrictions on the number of Chinook and Merlin aircraft types as outlined in the attached conditions.
"Staff require currency training to ensure they are safe to operate equipment which is often required at extremely short notice. The RAF will make their own submissions as part of this application, explaining that the use of Eshott Airfield is vital to crews for training, not just for emergencies.
"Extended use of Eshott Airfield by the military has been required in the past for emergency situations such as Operation Rescript, the military response to Covid 19."
The proposal states Chinnok and Merlin operated aircraft may only be used in routine training situations up to four time per month without the express written permission of the council. It also states flights by the resident flying school and other flying schools will only take place between 9am and 7pm.
No runway lighting will be installed, meaning the airfield will only be used during daylight hours.
The airfield is also seeking permission to erect a tipi style marquee between June and September, which will be used between 9am and 7pm. For events outside of these times a temporary event notice will be place up to the hours of 11pm.
