Northern Ireland weather: Weekend forecast as temperatures to dip further

The weather outlook for the upcoming weekend shows temperatures will take more of a dip across Northern Ireland.

According to the Met Office, both Saturday and Sunday will feature sunny intervals, however, Saturday afternoon may turn unsettled with a band of rain towards the east into the evening.

With temperatures reaching a low of 2C and highs of 9C, it could be the perfect wintery conditions to take a trip to the Christmas market in Belfast, which opens at 12 noon on Saturday, November 19.

Here's what can be expected from the weather over the weekend and into the new week:

Saturday

Dry, bright morning with fog patches soon dispersing. Becoming cloudy in the afternoon with a band of rain extending eastwards later in afternoon and evening. Strengthening southerly winds. Highs of 9 C, lows of 5 C.

Sunday

Cloudy changing to sunny intervals by late morning. Highs of 7 C, lows of 2 C.

Monday

Overcast changing to light rain by late morning. Highs of 8 C, lows of 4 C.

Looking ahead to the rest of next week, The Met Office are expecting more unsettled conditions to remain for the week, with persistent rain predicted.

More frost and fog patches are expected overnight, with a chance of moderate to strong winds.
