Shea Charles is hopeful there will be even more improvement from Northern Ireland by the time the next set of Euro 2024 qualifiers come around in June.
The result may not have gone their way against Finland but the Manchester City midfielder feels this is only the start for this group of players under Michael O'Neill.
"Everyone is very confident and you can feel the senior players all believe in the boss," said Charles.

"Training has been very good and the tactical stuff has gone in very well.
"There's obviously a lot of information at the moment but I thought we worked very well with it.
"I feel like there are a lot of positives for us and things for us to work on ahead of the games in June.
"We will have enough time to work on those things in the camp and hopefully we can perform even better.
"It was frustrating against Finland but there are a lot of positives for us to take out of the game.
"I thought our chance creation was very good, on another night those chances might go in and we could score two or three.
"So overall I thought it was a good performance."
Charles has made a big impression with his performances against San Marino and the Finns and he has enjoyed his opportunity.
"I'm a confident player and I'm calm during games, that's just the way I play," he said.
"I feel like I have done well and hopefully I've made everyone proud."
