As temperatures are expected to plummet this week, the Department for Infrastructure says its winter safety service is "fully operational and ready".
They have around 300 staff and 130 gritters available to salt main roads to keep traffic moving safely and freely, with 12 specialist snow blowers also available to be deployed if required.
Across Northern Ireland, "wintry showers" and "overnight frosts" are expected later in the week as a flow of northerly wind will start to cause temperatures to dip as a cold front begins to move in. A yellow weather warning for ice will be in place on Thursday for parts of the region.
