Year 9 student Lacey, who wasn't expecting the massive online reaction, said: "Singing has always been a passion of mine… I started singing at the age of four.
"My mum and dad recognised that I had a voice for music and from an early age I was signed up for singing lessons through the Music Rooms in Ballymena.
"Over the years, I have completed singing grades in Rock & Pop with the most recent achievement of passing my Grade 8. I had to sing ‘Vision of Love’ by Mariah Carey, ‘Easy on Me’ by Adele and ‘Fallin’ by Alicia Keys."
She added: "The online reaction to my TikTok, recorded at the Dunclug College Open Evening, took me completely by surprise… I was just expecting a few likes.
"Put simply, I love to sing. I really enjoy sharing this talent and gift. My teachers and friends at Dunclug College have supported me on my journey."
Mr Oliver, Principal of Dunclug College, added: "Staff at Dunclug College quickly recognised Lacey’s talent for singing with her first College Performance in Year 8 at our Check-in Breakfast! Enrichment and extra-curricular activities play a huge part in the life of the College.
"One interesting observation about Lacey is her ability to remain humble – she views herself as a daughter… a pupil… a friend and someone with milestones to achieve."
