KOLKATA: NorthEast United FC spoiled Mohammedan Sporting's debut party in the Indian Super League with a stoppage-time goal in spectacular fashion on Monday.
In front of a packed Kishore Bharati Stadium, Andrey Chernyshov's black-and-white bravehearts fought tooth and nail, matching the new Durand Cup champions' pace and punch almost throughout the match. As the match was headed to a stalemate, it looked like a victory for the debutants. But one lapse in concentration at the death undid all their good work when Alaeddine Ajaraie came up with the killer blow in the fourth of the 8-minute stoppage-time.
