North Wales Police send 'dear Merseyside drug dealers' message

Police have sent a message to Merseyside drug dealers after four were arrested in North Wales.

It came after officers found a large quantity of hard drugs and cash at an address in Connah's Quay this week. The house was suspected to be part of a "cuckooing" operation.

Cuckooing is where people take over another person's house for criminal purposes. It takes its name from cuckoos who take over the nests of other birds. North Wales Live reports.

A North Wales Flintshire police statement said: "Dear Merseyside Drug Dealers, Please stop sending kids to North Wales to sit in someone else's house and deal your drugs for you. We will arrest them and take all your drugs and cash. Yours faithfully, North Wales Police.

"Flintshire residents. Four individuals were arrested in a Connah's Quay address yesterday for numerous drug offences, after officers located a large amount of Heroin, Crack Cocaine, Cannabis, cash and drug paraphernalia.

"If you suspect one of your neighbours is being cuckooed, please let us know via 101, webchat or CrimeStoppers (links below). North Wales police are working with neighbourhoods to find dealers and make it difficult from them to target vulnerable individuals. #OpBlueGuardian."
