North Tyneside’s budget has been rubber stamped by councillors as Conservative plans to sell part of the authority’s airport stake were condemned.
This comes after North Tyneside Council’s Cabinet agreed budget proposals following a consultation with residents, businesses and communities across the borough.
The council faces a budget shortfall of £7.9m over the next financial year – a figure which rises to £27.6m over the next four years.
