A new training initiative has been launched to support the growth of businesses in North Somerset.
The new accelerator program will be delivered by a number of organisations in the area including Weston College, North Somerset Council, The Food and Drink Forum and North Somerset Enterprise Agency.
The UK Government-funded scheme, will offer entrepreneurs and businesses more than 50 free skills sessions and masterclass, in a bid to establish “a culture of innovation and growth” in the region.
The courses will focus on themes including business planning, digital support, sustainability, green agenda, mental health and wellbeing, sales, and business planning.
Dr Paul Phillips, principal and chief executive of the Weston College Group, said the organisation was “delighted” to be supporting local businesses.
Dr Phillips said: “We’re offering a wide range of free training sessions, which will assist our community in key areas such as sustainability and diversity, which is at the heart of our ethos at Weston College.
“It is fantastic to be linking up with other like minded, forward thinking organisations in North Somerset Council, The Food and Drink Forum, and North Somerset Enterprise Agency to deliver Accelerate.”
Weston College works with more than 2,500 businesses in the Bristol and Somerset area.
The funding for the Accelerate programme has been drawn from the Government's £220m UK Community Renewal Fund.
