The department took to Facebook to express their profound sadness over the incident, emphasizing the dedication and bravery exhibited by law enforcement officers in serving and protecting the community.
The unfortunate event unfolded at approximately 2:13 p.m. when officers responded to a report of an individual brandishing a firearm at another person. Despite commands from the responding officers, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Subsequently, an officer located the armed suspect and instructed him to show his hands, leading to an exchange of gunfire between the two parties.
