North East weather: What to expect if you are heading out on Friday

People across the North East may need to take their umbrellas with them if they head out on Friday.

Residents will be treated to another warm day with temperatures reaching a maximum of 20 °C in the region. The sun will make an appearance at around 7am and will remain visible for most of the day.

However the Met Office has predicted that there may be showers, thunder and even hail. Forecasters say the chance of rain will increase throughout the day, reaching a high of 70% at 2pm.
