April continues to bring unsettled weather to the North East after a cold snap moved in from Scotland on Monday night, causing it to be chillier than usual for this time of year.
According to the latest weather forecast from the Met Office, a cold night on Tuesday will see isolated patches of frost develop as temperatures dip below zero, before Wednesday gets off to a dry start. Showers will break out by the afternoon, perhaps turning wintry across the Pennines, with highs of 9°C.
Thursday is set to be mostly dry but cloudy, with the uncertain weather set to continue towards the weekend with bright spells marred by outbreaks of rain on Friday and Saturday. Here's what the weather looks like hour-by-hour in Newcastle over the next two days.
