North East weather: Hour-by-hour forecast for Wednesday and Thursday according to the Met Office

Wednesday is set to be the hottest day this week in the North East with temperatures expected to exceed the mid 20s.

The Met Office predicts that Newcastle will have unbroken sun across the day Wednesday, August 10 with temperatures reaching 25°C by the afternoon. Durham will be one of the hottest places in the region, with temperatures tipped to reach as high as 29°C and in both cities the chance of rain will remain lower than 5 percent throughout the day.

The sunny weather continues into Thursday, which is also expected to have dry weather and unbroken sunshine, though temperatures will be slightly cooler than Wednesday, at least in Newcastle. The Met Office said: "Any early mist or fog clearing quickly to leave another warm and dry day with unbroken sunshine for many.
