The cold and damp mornings this week will continue to be a breeding ground for fog and mist, as winter quickly approaches.
Tuesday's mist will begin rolling in at around 3am, before it thickens to relentless fog at roughly 6am/7am. Although North East residents will see some respite with sunny intervals as the morning and afternoon merge.
And while cloudy and even overcast skies are expected to come later in the evening, the Met Office predicts a fairly miserable but dry day overall with highs of 6C and lows of 3C.

More of the same is expected on Wednesday (November 30) too, with bleak and overcast conditions most of the day. But once again, it's expected to remain dry across the North East, with no more than 10% chance of rain anticipated.
The official Met Office forecast for Tuesday is: "Mist and fog slowly lifting into low cloud through Tuesday and breaking, but persisting in some rural spots all day. Some sunny spells developing. Chilly, especially where fog does persist. Maximum temperature 7°C."
