The chilly winter weather in the North East is set to persist in the coming days, but sunshine is on the cards after snowfall started off the week.

The chilly conditions will continue into Tuesday, which is expected to remain dry and sunny, before more blustery wintry showers are forecast to arrive along the coast from Wednesday to Friday.
