The North East is in for some wet weather as the second official week of spring continues, with the sunshine set to disappear behind the clouds over the next couple of days.
According to the Met Office, the clear skies on Monday night will see temperatures drop to as low as zero and frost forming in many places, as cloud thickens and patchy rain arrives by dawn. Tuesday, March 28, is set to be cloudy with bands of rain spreading across the region - there's even a chance of snow falling over the highest hills.
But there is some good news - with the clocks having changed at the weekend, the sun will set at 7.35pm. Tuesday is forecast to become drier by the evening and temperatures will feel milder overnight, before Wednesday gets off to a drizzly start with heavy rain arriving later in the day.
In Newcastle, Tuesday is due to be overcast with highs of 9°C, while Wednesday will hit a warmer 12°C but will bring downpours by the afternoon. Here's what the forecast looks like in the city over the next two days.
