The North East will continue to see sunshine and showers in the coming days as the last week of April continues to bring unsettled spring weather.
According to the latest weather forecast from the Met Office, the region will be hit with showery spells tonight that could turn wintry over higher ground, with widespread frost developing by morning as temperatures fall below average. Tuesday will get off to a bright, cold start, with cloud setting in by the afternoon but bright spells still shining through.
