North East weather: Hour-by-hour forecast for Thursday and Friday according to the Met Office

A couple of warm and sunny days are likely in Newcastle ahead of the weekend - with similar temperatures expected around the region.

We're not quite facing another heatwave just yet, but sunny weather in the high teens should be perfect for time at the beach on the beautiful North East coast. - at least once some early rain clears!Sunrise will be at 5.20am on Thursday, with sunset at 9.04pm.

Medium UV levels mean you should be careful to apply sun cream, while pollution is also low. However hayfever sufferers should be prepared for a sneeze or two with pollen levels also at a medium level.

The official forecasters at the Met Office said: "Cloudy with patchy rain at first on Thursday morning. Rain clearing by lunchtime with sunny spells through the afternoon, followed by a clear and sunny evening. Maximum temperature 20 °C."
