Met Office forecasts predict outbreaks of rain in Newcastle on Friday.
Forecasters predict that while the region will see a mainly dry and clear start to the day, cloud will build through the day allowing for some outbreaks of rain. Heading into the weekend, the rain is expected to linger and forecasters predict some "changeable conditions".
The official forecast for Friday is: "A mainly dry, clear start, though clouding over with outbreaks of rain moving eastwards across all parts during the day. Drier in the west by the evening. Temperatures near normal. Maximum temperature 14 °C."

The outlook for over the weekend is: "Changeable conditions, with showers or longer spells of rain on most days. Some drier and brighter interludes. Possibly a spell of wet and windy weather moving northeastwards Monday. Turning milder."
