A warm but wet Friday will see any barbecue plans quickly extinguished in the North East, according to the latest Met Office weather forecast.
Though the daytime temperature won't drop below 14 or 15 degrees, a damp afternoon will leave July's heatwave feeling a long time ago. Saturday's outlook looks brighter, but it's still set to be an overcast weekend.
On Friday, sunrise will be at 5.22am and sunset will be at 9.02am. UV levels are set to be high, but pollution and the pollen count are likely to be low.

The official forecasters at the Met Office said: "A mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, some heavy. These will fade away late afternoon, with increasingly clear skies during the evening. Breezy at times. Maximum temperature 19 °C."
