The North East will be treated to some sunshine over the next couple of days as temperatures fall just shy of double figures.
After a dry and mostly cloudy night, some places in the region could wake up to frost on Tuesday according to the Met Office. Tuesday itself will see highs of 9°C, with a mixed bag of patchy cloud interspersed with sunny spells as winds remain light - in Newcastle, the day will start off overcast before the sun peeks through by lunchtime.
