The North East is set for a cold and wet morning on Tuesday, though it's expected to get warmer by the afternoon.
The heaviest rain will be between 10am and 12pm in Newcastle, while there will be lighter showers throughout the rest of the day too. The afternoon will be milder, and temperatures could rise as high as 11°C, while there will be light showers during Newcastle United's Carabao Cup quarter final against Leicester City.
Wednesday is forecast to be cold but dry, with temperatures hitting a maximum of 7°C, despite sunny intervals throughout the day.

The Met Office said: "Winds quickly pick up as persistent rain moves over the region from the west, heavy at times, especially over western hills. Feeling milder through the day. Maximum temperature 11 °C."
