After a miserable week's worth of weather all across the North East, residents will be hoping for a change of tune with the weekend soon approaching. However, anyone hoping for clear skies as November rolls into December will be severely disappointed.
Thursday will be overcast from start to finish, with showers coming by late morning/early afternoon before returning in the evening. It'll start off chilly too with temperatures of 3C expected before gradually rising to 6C in the afternoon.
Friday appears to bring more of the same, with mist turning to drizzle and eventually showers in the morning. Although any precipitation is expected to dissipate by mid morning, remaining miserable, but dry for the rest of the day.

The official Met Office forecast for Thursday is: " Areas of low cloud, mist, and fog likely to be slow to lift again, giving a grey day with some patchy light rain or drizzle at times. Maximum temperature 6 °C."
The outlook for Friday to Sunday is: "Friday, areas of low cloud and fog lifting more readily. Saturday and Sunday, rather cold with a brisk easterly wind bringing occasional showers, these turning wintry on the highest hills."
