Anyone heading out and about in the North East come tomorrow should be sure to take an umbrella and raincoat with them, with heavy rain and strong winds expected to welcome the weekend.
January 7 looks to be particularly wet and wild in the morning, with rainfall making way for empty clouds and the occasional glimpse of sunshine in the afternoon. Temperatures between 10C and 6C are expected.
And while Sunday looks to be no jollier, the Met Office predict that it will at least stay dry. Sunny intervals in the morning eventually bleed out into thick white skies, and while the winter chill remains there's no sure-fire signs of further rain.
