Welcome to your daily look at the news in the North East.

Each morning and lunchtime we will bring you some of the latest news from the North East from breaking news and top stories to NUFC news and anything from what's on in the area to cost of living news.

Today we will kick off with a look at next week's Newcastle Restaurant Week. Restaurant week is always a huge boost for the city, with restaurants, pubs and bars offering fantastic deals. And with the cost of living crisis continuing to bite, it's come at a good time.

Restaurant week kicks off on Monday and here is a list of all the venues taking part. City centre reporter, Sophie Brownson, has also looked at restaurants offering meals for just £10.

Newcastle United remain riding high in the Premier League, and fans are absolutely delighted to reach the Carabao Cup semi-finals. Newcastle beat Leicester 2-0 on Tuesday night and Dan Burn scored his first goal for Newcastle - and he had a very funky celebration dance.

It led to fans giving the dance move a go themselves and there was some hilarious impressions from supporters in the Bigg Market following the game.

There has been an extremely sad update on a little boy whose story we have followed for years. Milo Browne, from North Shields, suffers from a rare degenerative condition so unique it is known only as M3BHA and there is no diagnosis.

The condition causes Milo to suffer from seizure and respiratory problems and he is unable to talk or eat, sit or stand without being fully supported meaning he needs 24-hour care.

Sadly, Milo's health declined towards the end of last year and now his family has made the difficult decision to bring him home so they can make as many memories as possible with him as they did not want him to pass away in hospital. You can read Milo's full story here.
