Newcastle shopping centre Eldon Square has extended its trading hours on the back of strong footfall and consumer demand.
The city centre retail complex has closed at 6pm on a regular basis since the pandemic, which forced its tenants to close for months on end during national lockdowns. Now, however, following a strong festive period which has seen footfall return to pre-pandemic levels, the centre has announced it will be open for one extra hour per day to support the interest in shopping, dining and leisure hub.
The centre will be open 9am to 7pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, with late night trading on Thursday from 9am to 8pm, and 11am to 5pm on Sunday. The announcement comes on the back of news that retail unit occupancy levels have returned to pre-pandemic levels, bolstered by the attraction of several new global retail giants such as Mango, Victoria’s Secret, and Swatch.
