A strong delegation from the North East has pledged to shine a light on opportunities in the region at the world’s biggest property event.
Mipim 2023 is expected to unite more investors and developers than ever before when it takes place in Cannes, France next month, giving officials from core cities and governments the chance to discuss capital investment opportunities and key industry challenges.
The event takes place from March 14 to 17 and is likely to attract more than 20,000 delegates from more than 80 countries and 2,000 investment and financial firms. A number of organisations from across the property, construction and professional services sectors have been recruited to join the North East group in France, led by Invest Newcastle, part of Newcastle Gateshead Initiative.

The North East delegation met at Ryder Architecture’s offices in Newcastle last week, to discuss plans ahead of journeying to Mipim. This year’s delegation will consist of Newcastle College Group (NCG), Avison Young, Ryder Architecture, Monstarlab, Newcastle University, Northumbria University, Hanro Group, Naylors Gavin Black, Faulkner Browns, Union Property Services, Todd Milburn, Mott MacDonald, Pradera Lateral, Invest North East England and Womble Bond Dickinson.
Invest Newcastle has led a delegation to the event for the last seven years and is currently developing a three-day programme of events that will position Newcastle and the wider region as a smart, inclusive and sustainable place to do business.
Mipim 2023 is taking place at a time of significant change for the North East business community, with the proposed £4.2bn devolution deal heralding a new era of investment for the region.
Jennifer Hartley, director of Invest Newcastle, said: “We are incredibly excited to be attending Mipim once again and leading a diverse delegation of public and private sector leaders. 2023 is shaping up to be the busiest Mipim on record as delegates from all over the world look to build new relationships that will unlock millions of pounds of investment for the cities and communities they operate in.”
