While there's debate every year about when is the right time to take down our Christmas decorations, it's safe to say that most people don't set about tidying away the festive additions to their home on Christmas Day itself.
But this is exactly what mam-of-two Georgia Schofield does. The 24-year-old from Hartlepool takes down all signs of yuletide joy from tinsel to the tree itself by 6pm on Christmas Day - but while the abrupt end to the festive season may sound unconventional, there's actually a very sweet reason behind it.
After her waters broke on Christmas morning nearly four years ago, Georgia's daughter was born on Boxing Day - but the dedicated mam is keen to make sure that her three-year-old little girl Ava never feels like her birthday comes second fiddle to Christmas. So on December 25, she quickly replaces Christmas decorations with birthday bunting and balloons as she puts Ava's birthday presents out ready for the morning.

Georgia went viral on TikTok after posting her unique tradition on the social media platform last year, and she will once again carry out the process on Christmas Day this weekend once dinner is finished and her kids, Ava and two-year-old Leo, are in bed. And Georgia even makes up for the early end to Christmas by changing up the whole festive season for her little ones and putting up the decorations in November.
"If it was me [who had a birthday on Boxing Day], I'd hate the tree being up. So I try and make it as normal as possible for Ava's special day," Georgia explained to The Mirror.
"I've done it every year so she knows no different, and she's never requested or questioned it," she added. "If it wasn't her birthday, I would have them up for longer."
Georgia ensures that she is prepared for Christmas earlier than most, with all presents bought and wrapped by mid-October and the tree up by the end of November - but the mam admitted that having two big celebrations at once can still prove tricky. "It's a nightmare buying a birthday cake," she revealed.
She added: "It's quite hard having a birthday so close to Christmas as there's only so much you can buy, but we can't change it." But despite the challenges, Georgia managed to pull off a Paw Patrol-themed party for Ava last year and is planning to do the same this Boxing Day to make her daughter's birthday extra special.
