A sunny start on Tuesday will give way to an overcast and showery afternoon in the North East.
It is expected to say dry alongside the sunny start, though rain can be expected from 3pm onwards, with the temperature reaching a maximum of 12°C. between 1pm and 4pm. The weather is set to become greyer again on Wednesday, with the day mostly cloudy and rainy, and no sign of sun on the horizon.
The Met Office said: "Cold yet sunny start. Cloud building by late morning with scattered showers developing.
