The North East is set to be hit with more snow this week as the Met Office issues another yellow weather warning.
The warning is in place for the region from 4pm on Wednesday, March 15 and will last until the early hours of Thursday morning (March 16). It comes just days after parts of the region were covered in a blanket of snow.
The Met Office said that the snow has the potential to cause disruption with some drivers facing delays on roads. The public are also being warned to expect longer journey times on public transport, including buses and trains, as a result of the weather conditions.

A Met Office spokesman said: "Spells of snow are expected to develop Wednesday late afternoon and early evening, mainly in areas above 100 to 200m. Later on Wednesday evening and during the early hours of Thursday, this snow will then turn to rain as milder weather conditions spread across the British Isles.
"Meanwhile, below 100 to 200m, snow may fall briefly during the late afternoon and early evening before turning to rain."
Temperatures will remain very low on Wednesday with highs of 6C in Newcastle, dropping to 3C overnight and into Thursday morning.
Those heading out in the car should pack essential items including an ice scraper and de-icer, an in-car phone charger as well as food and drink in case of getting stuck in the cold and wintry weather, according to breakdown experts, the RAC.
