North East armed forces named for Royal Victorian Medal in King's honours list, for services at Queen's funeral

A number of North East servicemen and women have been named in the King's Honours List, in recognition for their work for the Royal Family and late Queen Elizabeth II.

A long list of the Queen's closest personnel, including her official dresser and head groom - as well as coffin bearers at her state funeral and the RAF crew who flew her coffin to London will be honoured by King Charles III today through the Demise Awards.

A number of prestigious honours will be bestowed upon the Queen's advisors, Royal Household staff and select armed forces servicemen and women today - as they join the prestigious Royal Victorian Order.
