A young north Dublin lad has scooped a major prize at Ireland's young filmmaker awards.
16-year-old Max Hendrickson picked up second prize at Ireland's Young Filmmaker of the Year.
The Cabra native wonsilver for his film The Oubliette, a picture about a man who moves into a small apartment in a big city and notices strange and mysterious occurrences.
The awards ceremony took place as part of Fresh Film Festival.
Now in its 26th year, Fresh Film encourages young people to make films by hosting an annual international film festival for young people, presenting Ireland’s Young Filmmaker of the Year Awards, acting as an advocate for young filmmakers and promoting their work worldwide.

Speaking about his recognition at the awards, Max said: "I am so honoured to receive this award from Fresh Film Festival, it's really amazing to get this recognition and to be included in this amazing festival. Thank you so much to Fresh."
Taking first place was 18-year-old Sean Tracey from Ashford in County Wicklow, for his film The Least I Can Do.
Sean's film about a naive teen David who witnesses his best friend inappropriately engage with a girl at a party. He then falls into a moralistic crisis as he reconsiders the values of his friends while also confronting the overwhelming guilt of his inaction.
Other entries received highly commended awards on the day including Nellie Warren from Dublin, who won in the Direction category for her film How I Wonder. Dylan Michael won the Visual Innovation award for Faces and Kevin Meggs from Dublin won Best Screenplay for his film Sunday.
The Ireland’s Junior Young Filmmaker of the Year award was won by Lucy and Ruby Hand with LYCS Youth Work Programme James Joyce Street in Dublin for their film Litter Picker.
This year's Fresh Film Festival received over 1400 film entries from 82 countries.
