Premium Bonds holders in Norfolk shared about £1.19million in tax-free prizes in October, with 509 winners taking home an average of £2,344 each, according to NS&I figures.

That average is roughly 52 per cent lower than September's £4,857. That month, a Norwich holder won one of two £1million jackpots in the national draw. No £1million prize went to a Norfolk winner in October, which goes a long way to explaining the month-on-month drop.
