Nokia brings back iconic 90s phone that will leave shoppers feeling nostalgic

Get ready to be transported back to the nineties with this new phone.

The Nokia 8210 4G will be recognisable to many who are old enough to remember the millennium, as it’s directly inspired by a model that came out more than 20 years ago. The original Nokia 8210 launched at Paris Fashion Week in 1999, and became the must-have mobile when it was used in the hit movie Charlie’s Angels the following year.

Now the classic has been reborn, along with some swanky new features that would have blown us away in the early 2000s. Although the phone has been updated in line with modern technology to feature a camera, MP3 player and bigger display along with 4G, it still looks comfortingly familiar to its predecessor, The Mirror reports.

Available in red, blue or cream, the new version has a sleeker design - but still features the number keypad that is virtually a thing of the past in many of today’s most popular phones. And what’s more, the Nokia 8210 4G comes with retro games built in - including the iconic “Snake”.

Creators say that the phone’s big battery and tough design make it perfect for bringing along on any adventure - even if your lifestyle isn’t quite as thrilling as one of Charlie’s Angels. Raun Forsyth, VP of design at Nokia Mobile, hailed the new phone as “a style icon made for the modern day”.

“With Millennials embracing minimalism and Gen Z seeking more sustainable fashion, feature phones are becoming highly sought after,” he pointed out. “The Nokia 8210 4G lets you stand out from the crowd for longer thanks to its durable and sleek design, modern features, and update on a classic look – delivering a bit of ‘90s nostalgia and a lot of the quality and performance you’d expect from a Nokia phone.”
