Noel Gallagher is divorcing his wife Sara MacDonald after 22 years together.
The Wonderwall singer, 55, is said to have moved out of their Hampshire home and currently living alone in North London following the split.
Fans of the newly-single star are hoping the split could prompt a long-awaited Oasis reunion, with it previously reported Sara's strained relationship with brother-in-law Liam Gallagher was a major factor in the band's 2009 split.
A representative for the former couple told the Mirror this evening: "Noel and Sara will continue to look after their children who remain the priority.
"They ask the media to respect their privacy and that of our family at this time."
An insider added to The Sun: "It is a great shame but they’re trying to keep it as civilised as possible.
"Noel has moved out, but in time Sara might want to move back to London. They’re working everything out steadily to minimise the disruption."
The former couple first met back in 2000 when the Mancunian singer chatted up Sara at Ibiza club Space.
They briefly split two years later, amid reports Sara found Noel "too childish" to wed and have more kids, but went on to reunite and welcome two children into the world together.
The former couple exchanged marriage vows in 2011 at the Lime Wood Hotel in Hampshire — with Noel's brother Liam missing out on an invite.
Sara, 51, gave birth to their first son Donovan in 2007, followed by their second child Sonny in 2010.
Noel and his estranged wife enjoyed a lavish holiday in the country they began their love story last year - with the dad-of-three caught on film cringing as a restaurant played one of his hit songs.
As the entire outdoor area of the venue in Ibiza serenaded the star to his iconic tune Wonderwall, Noel popped his head in his hands as he tried to ignore the moment during his lunch with Sara.
In 2020, mum-of-two Sara revealed brother-in-law Liam had never met either of his nephews.
Noel was previously married to Meg Mathews prior to finding love with Sara, with the High Flying Birds frontman sharing daughter Anais Gallagher with his ex.
It's believed Sara was strongly opposed to Oasis reuniting, after Liam once reportedly called her 11 times in one night to hurl insults back in 2002.
Sara once detailed the feud between her husband and brother-in-law when chatting with Vogue - recalling how the two music legends once had a physical fight in a hotel room.
"They were rolling around like geckos," she told the publication. "Noel’s shirt was in ribbons. We left, but then I realised I’d left my bag in there. Noel knocked on the door and it was hurled down the corridor."
In 2021, Liam responded to a fan who tweeted the Beady Eye singer: “HEY LIAM, I need you to give me hope that Oasis will come back please. I’m 19 years old I want to love that concert, I HATE not being born earlier.”
To which Liam replied: “It’s gonna happen."
Noel's personal news will have Oasis fans wishfully pondering if the two brothers could finally put an end to their bitter feud and reunite on stage.
