Noel Gallagher took aim at Jamie Carragher for the ex-Liverpool man's claims that Manchester City might be a worse team with Erling Haaland in the starting line-up.
Former Liverpool defender Carragher was one of a number of pundits questioning the introduction of Haaland during periods in the season when City were struggling to keep pace with title rivals Arsenal. The Norwegian is the top scorer in the Premier League, but for a while it looked as though the title holders would lose their grip on the trophy.
Ex-Oasis star Gallagher praised Haaland before the top of the table clash against Arsenal, which ended in a comfortable City victory. And, in doing so, he couldn't resist a dig at ex-England international Carragher.
"With Erling, anything is possible," Gallagher told The BBC. "He's made for nights like this.
"He's stepped up [in] pretty much every big game we've played so far. He's stepped up and I think he could smash it tonight.
"Jamie Carragher? It's a good job no one listens to him, isn't it."
Carragher's stance on Haaland came to a fore when City lost to Spurs in February. "He's scored 25 Premier League goals, but Man City as a team have scored the same amount of goals, and they're conceding more, and it's far easier to counter attack them as well, so they're a different team, and a lesser team with Erling Haaland in the team," he said.

Despite it being a huge game for Arsenal, Gallagher wasn't too worried before kick-off. "I think we could lose tonight and still win the league," he said. "I think we'll win the league no matter what happens tonight.
"If we win, and win big, I think Arsenal are out of it. Arsenal are not going to win big, but if Arsenal win I'd still back us to win the league, because games in hand and Arsenal have still got a few tough games. It can't be won tonight, but it can be lost tonight by them.
"The only thing would be if Jesus scores the winner, that would be brutal. But you've got to look at it like this - let's say the teams are evenly matched, which they're not, we've got a better coach, a better goalkeeper, a better defence, a better midfield, better strikers.
"Strange things happen in big games and Arsenal have got to go for it, which again should suit us. But this is the beauty of the game, this game makes a fool of us all from time to time, but I'm quietly confident but still nervous."
Haaland wasn't on target against Arsenal until the closing stages, but has now surpassed Mohamed Salah's Premier League record for the most goals in a 38-game season. He also picked up a pair of assists in the 4-1 win, with Kevin De Bruyne scoring twice and John Stones also on target.
Arsenal remain two points clear, but City have two games in hand on their rivals. Pep Guardiola's side still have a chance to end the season as treble-winners as well, having booked their place in the FA Cup final while remaining alive in the Champions League.
