Never mind cigarettes and alcohol – all Noel Gallagher needs is a comfy pillow.
The ex-Oasis star has also quit his all-night studio sessions to get home in time for his tea.
Asked what he takes with him when he travels, he said: “I take my own pillow on tour.”
In a slightly more rock’n’roll twist, he added: “If I’m in a hotel, and I see a better pillow, I’ll just swap it, that’s what I’m like, I am a confirmed pillow thief.”
Noel, 56, now only works in the studio from midday to 6pm. He said: “If you can’t say it in six hours there’s no point. I need my dinner.”
He told Jools Holland: “In the 90s everything we did after dinner we’d have to redo... now I can’t be bothered working after six. There’s football to watch.”
Noel, 56, also played down hopes of Oasis playing together live next year, when they have their 30th anniversary.
He told Jools Holland: "Hopefully I'll still be on the road with this [new solo album]. I'm not sure I'll be doing anything live. But we'll be doing something to acknowledge it."
The songwriter of hits including Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger also said the way they used to drink until dawn before playing live shows was not something he could manage now.
He said: "I think now about the things that we used to do. And some of the states we used to do gigs in, great amazing iconic gigs. I'd have a nervous breakdown thinking about it, you know, we wouldn't have been going to bed till the sun came up and it just felt like nothing but that's the power of youth."
