Noel Gallagher has labelled Matty Healy a 'slack-jawed f***wit' after The 1975 frontman urged Oasis to 'stop messing around' and reform. It's almost 14 years since the band dramatically split with Noel and brother Liam going their separate ways.
Rumours of reunions have followed ever since, despite the Burnage pair both enjoying success with their own projects. Yet in an interview with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in February, Healy urged the Gallaghers to reconcile at last, claiming they were 'acting like they’re in their 20s' and 'need to grow up'.
He said: "Can you imagine being in potentially - right now, still - the coolest band in the world, and not doing it because you’re in a mard with your brother?" Speaking on CBC's Q with Tom Power radio show, Healy also insisted that 'not one person' would rather see Liam or Noel's High Flying Birds than Oasis.

But the comments have not gone down well with either brother. Liam was first to respond, writing on Twitter in February: "It’s our time to waste who made him the boss of time."
And not one to shy away from strong opinions, Noel has since waded in on the discussion in typical fashion. Speaking to Spin as part of a series of interviews to promote new High Flying Birds album, Council Skies, the 55-year-old said of Healy: "Oh, that f****** slack-jawed f***wit. What did he say?"
Reminded of Healy's comments to CBC, he added: "He would never be able to imagine it. He needs to go over how s*** his band is and split up."
It's not the only thing Noel wanted to get off his chest ahead of his huge Wythenshawe Park gig later this year, either. In an interview with the Manchester Evening News, Noel poured his heart out on AI, the mainstream charts and performing in his home city - which you can read here.
