'No trust left' for Prince Harry as royal family refuse to engage with accusations

Prince Harry has reported to have 'burned his bridges' with the rest of the Royal Family after his book, Spare, was released on Tuesday (January 10).

Buckingham Palace sources say that there is 'no trust' left between the family, reports the Daily Record. The rest of the royals have been hit with a number of shocking bombshells and 'truths' that Prince Harry has revealed live on ITV and CBS - and also in his memoir.

Despite telling interviewers Tom Bradby and Anderson Cooper that he wants to reconcile with his family, viewers have been left stunned by some of Harry's comments. Sources at Buckingham Palace told The Mirror there is “no trust left” between senior royals and the Prince after his mention of them in interviews.

This news has come after Harry dubbed his step-mother, Queen Consort Camilla, as the "villain", and stated that she "sacrificed me on her personal PR altar” with leaks of negative stories to the media.

King Charles and Prince William are both reportedly "burning with anger” over Harry's decision to release the book and go on various chat shows to promote the memoir.

The Duke claimed the Prince of Wales allegedly attacked him in his home in 2019. Harry also accused Prince William of grabbing him by the collar after their grandfather, Prince Phillip's, funeral in April 2021.

Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have refused to publicly respond to allegations.

One Royal source has stated: "The irony is there for all to see, apart from Harry himself it seems. There was very little (trust) before these latest scenes, but there is no trust left at all for Harry to be brought into the fold.”

As Harry faces huge backlash for his decision to sell his story, the Prince has defended his actions to tie himself into a $20million book contract and $100million Netflix deal - claiming it was his opportunity to tell the truth.

Harry told both Tom and Anderson that both he and wife Meghan Markle would be willing to take up a role to support the monarchy in the Commonwealth. He said: "I don’t know whether they’ll be watching this [interview] or not, but, what they have to say to me and what I have to say to them will be in private, and I hope it can stay that way."

He also told CBS News that his offer of a partial royal role based overseas is still on the table pending “frank discussions that don’t leak out”. He said “100 per cent reconciliation” was achievable but said his family needed to take “accountability”.

In the latest interview on Good Morning America on Monday, Harry was asked if his book would heal a rift between himself and his family. The Prince admitted: "I thought about it long and hard, and as far as I see it the divide couldn’t be greater before this book.”

And if the reconciliation doesn't happen, Harry plans to focus on his own life and family. He added: "I’m not angry any more. There are things that will still anger me, but I’m not angry any more, because I am exactly where I am supposed to be.”
