Detectives have determined there were no suspicious circumstances involved in the death of a two-year-old girl discovered unconscious in a hot car at a rural property in Queensland.

Police were called on Sunday afternoon to the home on Bee Creek Road at Eungella, about 80km west of Mackay, after the child was found to be unresponsive.

Detectives from the Mackay Child Protection and Investigation Unit declared a crime scene at the house in a bid to determine how long the girl had been in the vehicle and how she gained accessed to it.

Temperatures topped 32C at Eungella on Sunday.

"Initial investigations ... have determined there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a two-year-old girl at Eungella yesterday," police said in a statement on Monday morning.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
